Wado Ryu karate came to Bristol, England early in 1964 with the opening of a club which would eventually become known as the Kyu do Kan.

From this small beginning a spirit and feeling for Wado karate grew. A spirit which has produced a number of highly regarded teachers. Among them two 7th Dans and three 6th Dans. Although the club no longer exists that spirit lives on in the hearts of the many people around the world still practising the Wado Ryu that they practised together then.

They came together from around the world in August 2002 for a reunion to commemorate the return visit of Furukawa Sensei after 35 years. This website is a record of that reunion and the roots and heritage of the Kyu Do Kan Old Boy's.
